When the World Was Looking for Answers,
Leaa Went to the Patient.
In 2019,Leaa Health performed what we identifyas the one of the first known at-home COVID tests,bringing testing directlyto a patient's homebefore at-home COVID testingbecame widely available.
When COVID rapidly expandedand the healthcare system came under enormous pressure,access to testingand medical care became extremely difficult.
Testing sites were limited.Clinics were overwhelmed.Families were frightened.Patients were isolating.Many people simply did not knowwhere to turn.
During periods when traditional facilitieswere restricting accessor patients could not practicallyreach medical care,Leaa went directly into their homes.
Our clinicians evaluated sick patients,performed available testing,checked vital signs,monitored symptomsand provided clinician-directed medical carewhere patients felt safest:at home.
Leaa helped elderly patients,homebound patients,families,travelers,isolated individualsand people who had very few practical optionsfor accessing medical care.
We did not create mobile care because of COVID.Mobile care was already what Leaa did.
Leaa had been providingmedical house calls since 2017,so when the pandemic changedhow people could access healthcare,our model was already designedto bring the clinician to the patient.

COVID antiviral therapy is not appropriate for every patient.
The clinician must considerage,risk of severe disease,other medical conditions,kidney and liver function,pregnancy,current medications,possible drug interactionsand the time since symptoms began.
Managing COVID Symptoms at Home
Many patients with mild COVIDrecover at home,but medical evaluationcan be helpful when symptoms worsen,risk factors are presentor the patient is unsurewhether additional treatment is needed.
